Priscilla's Stamping 411 challenge sketch 134

Stamping 411 sketch 134

This is the card I designed for the 411 challenge sketch 134.  The stamp set is Asian Artistry stamped on Very Vanilla and then embossed with gold.  The papers are Bravo Burgundy, Brushed Gold, and Very Vanilla.  The corner Brushed Gold card stock is stamped with Encore Gold pigment ink.  The ribbon is Whisper White tafeta ribbon colored with my Bravo Burgundy marker.  The coin is the only non Stampin'UP! item on the card.  The focal point pieces are attached with Stampin' dimensionals to add lots of depth to the card.  Fun sketch!

Barbara's 411 Challenge sketch 134

I had fun with this layout.  We were doing reinker roses in our classes last week and I had one left over.  It seemed perfect for this sketch.  The Sending Love designer paper works great with it.  Add a little chocolate chip ribbon and of course I can't get away without a butterfly flitting around.

Our January 14th Technique Class

Here we all are displaying our cards- Claire, Gayle, Lisa, Priscilla, Barbara K. , Barbara O., Susan, Gloria, and Suzanne.  We had a great time making cards with various embossing techniques.   We even tried the  reinking technique with the Fifth Avenue Floral design.  Check out our roses below.

Lisa is coloring her Fifth Ave Rose using the reinker watercolor technique.  We used Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, and Rose red reinkers.  Some also added a little Apricot Appeal reinker to obtain a bit of a peachy tone in the rose. Such fun to watch the colors flow on the wet shimmer paper.

Susan proudly displaying her very first hand stamped card - She did a great job!

Some of the lovely roses we made. Wait till they are cut out - The roses are beautiful!

This Valentine card used a combination of white and iridescent ice embossing powder.  The heart sparkles.  We punched holes at top and bottom to run the ribbon through it.  We also used the new Sending Love designer paper.  There were assorted sentiments - and people made several so that they could put the sentiment on when ready to use.  We love to have cards that can be adapted.

The tulips in this card were from a favorite stamp set - Garden Whimsey.  We used Regal Rose and Soft Suede pens to color the stamp and then stamping off technique where you stamp once then do the second without reinking.  Of course we love the new Well Scripted sentiment and the butterfly embosslit from the new Mini catalog.

This next card we made with our watercolor roses. The card was cased from the beautiful  "Blue Rose" card posted by Vicki at Split Coast Stampers See her card and a link to the tutorial at:
The colored rose is mounted with dimensionals on embossed Whisper White card stock with the Little Leaves made with the Big Shot.

The last card we made during the class uses Very Vanilla, Bravo Burgundy, and brushed gold card stock and is embossed in gold using the Asian Artistry stamp Set.  All products are Stampin'UP!

Barbara's 411 Challenge Ideas

Here are 2 variations on the theme.  I'm experimenting with embossing.  The top card embossed over Cameo Coral and Ruby Red.  In the lower card the daisies were done with clear embossing on Whisper White. Then I used the brayer with Old Olive, Bermuda Bay and a little Night of Navy.  Of course - my favorite new thing is Beautiful Wings.  Butterflies are appearing everywhere!

New Baby

Barbara's niece has a new baby boy - born on New Year's Eve.  This Love Bug card is to welcome Baby David!  It uses brilliant blue and old olive with brocade blue ribbon.  Very easy.  Love the new Well Scripted clear stamp set.

Stamping Class January 5th

We had fun making this little birdhouse. Who knows - they could be love birds!  We do love the new Two Step Bird punch!   So many possibilities.  We also got to try the crimper to make the roof.   We used the punched birdhouse hole to stamp the sentiment on the inside too.  When the edge was sponged with ruby red it was perfect.
Using the new acrylic blocks and clear stamps are super!  Everyone loved them.  We also went nuts with butterflies today.

We made a beautiful box to store our treasures!  We used more butterflies - such fun.
The Mini Ocassions and Sale a Bration catalogs went into effect today - and we got to test a lot of the new products.

Priscilla's 411 challenge #132

This is the Stamping 411 challenge #132 and below is my take on it.

For this challenge I used card stock in colors that I never use - Brilliant Blue and Summer Sun along with Real Red.  My thought is to design a card that would work for kids the age of my grandsons.   They range in age from 7 to 19.  The stamp set is "Starring You."   I am not sure this card really works but I had fun with the challenge.  At first I used stars instead of circles for the 4 elements but then the card looked like it should be for a 4 star general.  Thanks for looking.
