Priscilla's 411 Challenge # 157

Finally I have made something with my new stamp set Studio Sketches and also with a stamp set that I have never used before - Merci bien.  This is the Elegant Thank You stamp but I ordered it in French!  The focal image is stamped with STAZON on water color paper and colored with SU markers and blended with a SU blender pen.  This technique is so easy and produces a lovely water color look.  The red is Cherry Cobbler which is quite striking combined with Crumb Cake and a little sponging and direct to paper with Chocolate Chip.  I love this combination on card stock embossed with the Basket Weave embossing folder.  Of course the card is finished with a pretty little "Fork" bow.   Oh yes stamping Dimentionals were used to give plenty of depth to the card.

Thanks for looking. Now go over to the 411 web site and see the cards that the talented Operators and submitters did with this sketch.   http://stamping411.blogspot.com/

Priscilla's 411 sketch challenge #156

The layout follows the 411 sketch except I felt that on this card a sentiment did not really work -it will be on the inside of the card.  I used new colors and the new Daffodil Delight Ribbon so my color scheme is Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz.  Elements of Style was stamped on watercolor paper and I used markers and blender pens to do the watercoloring.  So easy when you use watercolor paper.  The roses have a little Poppy Parade and Peach Parfait that I added to make them pop.  It can't be seen but the outside edge of the inner square is inked with Daffodil Delight.  The Pear Pizzazz card stock is embossed using the Finial Press embossing folder (my Vintage Wallpaper folder is on backorder) and then the card is sponged with Certainly Celery.  Thanks to my stamping buddies today who told me that my original color scheme did not work - I really like how this new color scheme works together.  The Pear Pizzazz is beautiful.  Stamping Dimensionals are used for each layer so the card has lots of depth.   Visit the 411 site to see what the operators did with the sketch and all the entries at http://stamping411.blogspot.com/

Tropical Party

Our tropical party was so much fun and we had a wonderful surprise - our friend Selene Kempton of 411 fame was able to join us.
Barbara's house was decorated with tropical theme and we all enjoyed our tropical buffet with "lite" rum punch.  Definitely had the feel of Hawaii - notice that everyone had an Hawaiian lei to wear.

This is a picture of our Exotic Chicken Salad -lots of pineapple, grapes and almonds as well as chicken of course.

Selene liked the melon.

Here we are Carol, Claire, Lisa, and Toni enjoying lunch

In this picture Gloria, Jeanne, Gayle, Joanne, and Claire finishing one of the projects.

Sylvia, Lisa, and Toni are on the sun porch working on a tropical card.

That's Judy P. in the background cleaning up scraps while Priscilla hovers over one of her projects - that's Gloria, Judy S., and Claire working hard on one of the tropical card projects.

Barbara's 411 Challenge #155

Stampin Up has a new catalog coming out July 1st.  As demonstrators we get a sneak peak of some of the new products.  My things arrived Friday - and I love them.  This is the new Artistic Etchings stamp set.  I also used the new Vintage Wallpaper impressions folder and some new colors.  This uses Cherry Cobbler - a great new red and crumb cake, old olive, chocolate chip and very vanilla.
I was inspired by a card designed by Andrea Munro - another Stampin Up gal.  Colors and positioning are changed to fit the 411 challenge.  I'm going to love using this stamp set.  Thanks Andrea!

Barbara's Challenge #154

I've been wanting to try the Black Magic technique - but I didn't want to do it on black.  So using up retiring colors - I tried Handsome Hunter, Dusty Durango and Crushed Curry.  The Black Magic is stamped in white - then when it is dry - color with chalk.  Think I will try this again as you can achieve any color combination.
