Priscilla's 411 Card challenge

This weeks 411 challenge was indeed a "challenge" for me.
However, the sketch gave me the opportunity to use the Top Note die -I never seem to use this great die - so I struggled to come up with this interpretation.  And what fun I had making this card.  Lots of my new stuff was used.  My new letterpress plate works beautifully to create the background piece for this card.
The stamp sets are the very versatile Fabulous Florets and Teeny Weeney wishes - the ribbon is the pretty new Calypso Coral ruffled ribbon.  Old Olive and Calypso Coral ink and Very Vanilla and Old Olive card stock.  Yikes I just noticed that I forgot to snip out one of the petals on the left flower.  I promise that will be done before I mail this card.  Oh yes and the Lattice embossing folder was used for the Top Note background.  A few spritzes of Vanilla Smooch and the card is done.  Wish you could see the shimmer in the picture as it gives a lovely look to the card.

Here is this weeks 411 challenge - check out the 411 site to see how the Operators and others interpreted this sketch.

OpenHouse

Our Open house on the 12th was a great success and it was so much fun to get together with so many of our stamping friends.   These are the two make and take cards that were made on the porch.  I hope you liked them.  The stamp set is Happiness Shared and the colors are Pear Pizzaz and Concord Crush.  The image is simply colored with SU markers and of course the sentiment is from my favorite (and oldest) stamp set - Sincere Salutations.

Our next project will be the French Foliage box set class on August 9th and for you Thursday club ladies don't forget that next month the club session is on Wednesday August 3rd.

Priscilla's 411 Number 208 Card

This Weeks 411 challenge sketch  looked like such a fun sketch that I decided to play along this week.  So what to do - I wanted to use something from the new catalog - Wisteria Wonder card stock and ink; somethings from the old catalog but still current - Flower Fancy Stamp set, Concord Crush and En Francais stamp; and something retiring - Concord Crush Ribbon.   A little bling for the flower centers and Voila! The card is done.  I did not add a sentiment because there is so much going on with the embossed layer and the two color ribbon.  The sentiment will be on the inside of this card.
Go over to the 411 site at http://stamping411.blogspot.com/ and check out what the talented 411 Operators have done with this sketch.

Priscilla's 411 sketch entry

This card started out with several requirements: First to use the 411 sketch, second tto use Rose Red DSP, and last to use Rose Red Seam Binding.  The stamp set is Because I Care and the ink is Rose Red and Pear Pizzaz.  Notice the little pearl and punched out flower in place of the button.  A few punched out flowers are added to the main blossom.  All products are Stampin'UP! Now will this work for the Thursday Club ladies next week? I think I might change the sentiment and use a bolder one.  Go on over to the Stamping 411 web site and check out what the operators did with this sketch. http://stamping411.blogspot.com/2011/06/saturday-sketch-challenge-206.html

Thursday Stamping Club May Meeting Cards

This months meeting focused on water coloring with markers.   We used the Aqua painters and the SU water color paper to do the focal piece.  As promised  here is the recipe for our cards.

This first card uses the On the Grow Stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalog stamped with STAZON black.  Then we water colored with Wild Wasabi for the grass and leaves;  Marina Mist and Bashful Blue for the jar and shadow; Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirquette for the flowers.  Then we added the tiny pearls from the SU Jewels.  This tiny pearl just makes the flowers pop.  The card is made with Baja Breeze DSP from the Subtle collection and Baja Breeze and Natural white card stock.  A little bow in the Baja Breeze Seam binding is added.  We embossed the lower half of the Natural White front to coordinate with the polka dot DSP  The Thursday Stampers all did a great job water coloring and made beautiful cards.

We used the same water color techniques to do this second card with the butterfly and flower stamps from the Nature's Walk stamp set.  This card uses the Wild Wasabi DSP and card stock and ink; and Baja Breeze card stock and ink.   The butterfly details are colored with a little So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Marina Mist and outlined with Not Quite Navy.  A little Marina Mist was added for depth to the flowers too.  Every piece is sponged to add depth.

This last card is a little different and uses the Bright Collection colors.  Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo with the ribbon and buttons from the SAB catalog.  Recognize the card?  It is a case from the SAB catalog but different stamps.  This is the perfect card for a young person or friend.  Fun card to make.  Stamps used are the Happy Birthday stamp from the Something to Celebrate set, the top stamp in Daffodil Delight is from the Painted Petal set and the little heart is from the Build a Cupcake set.   All products used are from Stampin'UP!
