The Evening in Paris Party

Barbara and Priscilla celebrated their return from France with a gala Evening in Paris event.  Here are the lovely ladies who celebrated with us.  Front from left to right kneeling are Priscilla and Barbara, in back from left to right - Bobbi Ennis, Susan Wingfield, Jeanne Reidy, Gayle McKay, Terry Theophile, Claire Higson, Toni Wood and Gloria Moll.

We made a traditional French drink, Kir cocktails to serve with our French Baguette, Brie and Blue cheese.  Ohh La La this is so French!

These are the four French cards we made.

Thursday Club Stampers Season Opener

All members  of our Thursday stampers club came to make cards this week for our first meeting of the fall.  Starting from the right front we have Terry, Claire, Gloria, Suzanne, Priscilla (me), Carol and Jeanne. Everyone made three pretty complicated cards - see the one right in front of Terry with the two little owls.  I showed them a trick I saw on the net on how to pick up the little pieces of the new owl punch with a toothpick and some Tombow glue.  This trick makes it quite easy to place those sneaky Little pieces right where you want them.  

This is another card we made Thursday.  We used the Seeds of Happiness stamp set and the new embossing folder "Elegant Lines".  The flower is stamped with black Stazon on watercolor paper and then water colored with markers and blender pens.  Then the flower is cut out and stamping dimensionals are used to adhere the flower to the card.  The greeting is stamped and punched out with the large oval punch and we used the gold elastic cord from last years holiday mini to tie the sentiment piece to the Pretty in Pink Satin ribbon.  I think white embroidery thread would look very nice too for the tie for this card.  I must remember to buy some.  

We had a fun afternoon and I think everyone liked their cards.  They all did a great job making them.

Evening In Paris October 20th

 A trip to Paris is something one just dreams about but now Barbara and I are actually going.  We will see the Eiffel Tower in person, sail down the Seine and drink French wine - maybe even see the Mona Lisa at the Louvre.  I wish you were all going with us on this fabulous trip.

But since that is not possible how would you like to spend an evening in Paris with Barbara and me on October 20th?  We can regale our Parisian experiences for you - serve you some wine and cheese (hope we can get French wine and cheese here) and make French themed cards.  This will be fun night and I hope you can join us.

This is one card I have been experimenting with to see if it would work. This is a thank you card but could be a birthday card or thinking of you card just as well but most of all this is a fun card to make.

Priscilla's 411 Challenge #165

For this weeks fun 411 Challenge I wanted to use a stamp set and colors that I have not used very much.  Since I do not have a large circle die for my big shot I thought that the new Printed Petals set would sort of emulate the circle component of this sketch.  First I wanted to use all the new "In Colors" for this card but after several attempts at incorporating Poppy Parade and Peach Parfait I decided that all those colors together was too much for this card.  So my base is Whisper White with a layer of Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz - stamped with Versa Mark.  The focal point is Blushing Bride (don't you just love the names for these colors) stamped with Concord Crush.  Of course I added the Concord Crush ribbon.  The focal point and flowers are raised with Stamping Dimensionals.  For the flowers I added a little bling with the new Basic Rhinestone Jewels.  The flowers were "curled" slightly with a bone folder.  This card has texture and dimension that adds a lot of interest.  I think the card came out quite nicely even if there were a couple of false starts.  Don't you think someone would like to receive this birthday card?

Wednesday's Stamp Camp with a Male card theme

What a fun filled afternoon we had at our Stamp Camp Wednesday.   

Half of the crew stamped in Barbara's dining room - (from left to right) Gayle, Carol, Priscilla, Judy, and Toni.  We created cards with sailboats and lighthouses using the new stamp set "Uncharted Territories" at this table. Of course red, white and blue dominated.  The lighthouse is done on natural white card stock and a Night of Navy layer that was run through the Big shot with the Texturz plate "Perfect Detail".  Then a very nautical Red ribbon was added.  The sail boat card is whisper white, Not Quite Navy, and Real Red card stock.  The Not Quite Navy layer is embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder.  When the nautical cards were done the ladies swapped places with those on the sunporch to make their next  four cards.

Here on the sunporch, Jeanne, Bobbi, Dawn, Barbara, and Suzanne took on a different theme.  We all know beer drinking guys and made cards for them.  We ran aluminum foil through Big Shot to create the background.  Then we stamped and punched out the beer steins.  The foam has added sparkle with the chunky glitter. 

Then switching themes again - we made a forest card using the new Plant Hope stamp set.  We sponged the background (using masking for the moon) and then stamped off the trees.  It is all mounted on a new favorite color - Marina Mist. 

Gloria got there in time to make the nautical cards. We were glad to see her!

These are the four cards created at the male themed stamp camp.  Everyone went home with 8 cards - two of each design.  Now they are ready for the men in their lives. 

One group got creative with the beer steins. Judy started it - and then Carol jumped in.  Look below to see her card. 

This is a very creative group of stamping ladies who seemed to be having a fun filled afternoon stamping at our Male themed stamp camp. Hope those of you who were not able to come to this event can join us next time.

1st Birthday and 50th Anniversary cards by Priscilla

This is the card I made for my youngest niece Jillian's 1st birthday.  I used Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink - perfect for a beautiful baby girl.  Then of course some glitter on the number 1 and a giraffe from my retired (alas) favorite set "Wild about You".  This card turned out looking pretty cute if I do say so myself.

Now the next event was a 50th Anniversary party for my dear friends Bruce and June.  I used the Owl punch from the new catalog.  Isn't the little dress with glittered belt adorable?  The buttons on his vest are the little eyes from the punch.  I had so much fun making this card with my friend Toni's Owl punch that I ordered one for myself too.  There is so much you can do with this little owl.  I sort of cased this card from one I saw on SU Connnection but I am not sure whose card it was but I thank them for the inspiration.
